Chipman is looking for an IT Administrator for our Sacramento Branch

Summary: The IT Administrator is responsible for managing Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, and user account systems such as Google Workspace and Office 365. Key duties include server patching, performance troubleshooting, and enforcing user security through group policies. This role also supports employee onboarding, provides first-level help desk assistance, and contributes to disaster recovery planning and execution. Additionally, the position offers opportunities to develop automation solutions to enhance operational efficiencies.

 

Some of the duties will include:

  • Installation, configuration, ongoing monitoring, and administration of Windows Server Operating System 2016-2022 and its related software.

  • Maintaining user accounts for all applications, including Google Workspace for Business, Office 365, and other accounts as needed.

  • First-level help desk support. This person will be responsible for timely day-to-day application support, including password resets, application question resolution, and systems monitoring.

  • Troubleshooting Windows Server performance issues and reviews server logs for root cause analysis with recommended solutions. Resolves escalated Windows and server applications incident tickets, serving as part of the after-hours support on a rotating basis.

  • Onboarding new employees. This will include Windows security setup, initial log-on support, application training, and ongoing account maintenance.

  • Designing new automation scripts, not limited to: Zenphi, Google Apps Script, and Windows PowerShell.

Required qualifications are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Alternatively, four years of professional experience in general information technology, specifically performing technical tasks for computer systems or services, may substitute for the degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

  • Preferred one to three years of system administration experience in a Windows Server environment, including experience administering Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPO), and network-related services, such as Domain Name Service (DNS), DHCP, etc.

  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users clearly.

  • Ability to break down large tasks into manageable steps

  • Balances multiple tasks, tickets or projects efficiently.

  • Open to giving and receiving feedback
