The Genesis

In 1939, amidst the echoes of the Great Depression, Arthur Chipman left the Iowa farms behind and set his sights on San Francisco. Armed with determination and a paintbrush, Arthur began his career by painting submarines at the Mare Island Naval Base. But it was his side hustle that would change the course of history. Evenings turned into moving adventures as Arthur transported belongings and supplies throughout the base.

The Birth of Chipman Moving & Storage

In Vallejo, California, Arthur and his wife, Dorothy, founded Chipman Moving & Storage. Armed with just one truck, a small warehouse, and an unwavering commitment, they embarked on a mission: to ease the challenges of moving for individuals and businesses alike. Their dedication to quality and service laid the foundation for what would become an enduring legacy.
