The constant in business is change. When the change required decommissioning a large-scale office, this US-Based global financial company called on Chipment Relocation & Logistics.

 The Requirements

211,000 Sq. Ft.
1,900+ Workstations
2,800+ Chairs

Beyond the metrics of the decommissioning project, we worked with the company to achieve tight timelines and mission goals. The original 37-day timeline was reduced to 30 days. As part of the environmental initiatives, 80% of the assets were designated for donation, resale, or recycling. We achieved these targets, and like most projects of this magnitude, we did it while managing an evolving scope.

The Chipman Approach

Working closely with the customer, Chipman developed and executed a strategic plan to tackle the project scale and accelerated timeline. Key to meeting the deadline was our project management team’s ability to sequence the work of multiple trades, coordinate resources to avoid conflicts, and streamline logistics. Chipman managed over 250 truckloads to remove all equipment during the decommissioning of a high volume of assets.

Sustainability goals are common across most projects, and this large-scale office decommissioning is no exception. Because of Chipman’s experience working with nonprofit organizations, upsell resources, and recycling services, we have a deep bench of sustainability partners to help our customers meet their goals. Chipment met or exceeded the client's goals.

Results

The project was a success, and the customer was thrilled with the results. Not only did the project come in ahead of schedule, but it also recycled over 1 million pounds of metal and delivered valuable assets to 12 nonprofit and resale partners.  Through flexible project management and a customer-centric approach, the Chipman team was able to deliver the project on time and within budget.
