To avoid your shoes from suffering physical damage and for easier unpacking at your destination, take sometime to pack your shoes properly.
Footwear May Contain Moisture
Before packing your shoes, air out athletic, leather, work, and any other commonly used shoes to avoid mold from forming during transport. You may also want to powder the insides to ensure all moisture is drawn out of the leather and fabric.
Protect Your Dress Shoes' Finish
The best way to transport shoes is in their original shoeboxes to prevent damage from contact with other shoes. If this is not possible, wrap each shoe individually and then in pairs paying extra attention to any ornament. If you'd like to avoid this extra hassle, you can also place them in a closet door shoe hanger and then fold it carefully.
