How to Pack Silverware

When packing your silverware you'll want to protect precious metals and ensure sharp knives and forks don't injure movers during handling.

Protect Silver from Tarnish and Abrasion

Because air can cause silverware to tarnish, wrap each piece in clean, unprinted paper and then wrap each set with clear plastic.

If you store your silverware in a chest, you should fill in all empty spaces in the chest with tissue paper or paper towels and then wrap the chest with a large bath towel.
