The Customer Service Excellence award is based on customer survey results and van line ratings in the areas of claims, safety and quality labor. Chipman is proud to receive this coveted award and to be recognized as the very best in total quality performance in our van line system.

Annual Driver of the Year Awards

Each year United Van Lines covers awards for its top achievers. No award recipients are more highly regarded throughout our system than the Driver of the Year category. To qualify as one of the finalists for this prestigious award among the over 5,200 van operators is a significant accomplishment.

2015 Gene Anderson - United Van Lines Excellence Award

Chipman Relocation & Logistics Chairman of the Board John Chipman, Sr and CEO Tom Chipman received the Gene Anderson/United Excellence award, which recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the United Van Lines system. The award is named in honor of the late Gene Anderson of Lubbock, Texas, a long-time United Van Lines Board member and the corporation’s treasurer at the time of his death in 1985.

Todd Meserle, Chipman Relocation and Logistics, Alameda, California, was honored with the Mayflower Transit 2012 Excellence in Sales Award. The award was presented at United’s national sales and operations conference held in St. Louis. Chipman Relocation & Logistics is an agent for Mayflower Transit. American Transportation Association Winning Drivers

Super Van Operator Awards are given to recognize drivers and owner-operators who provide the best in safe, reliable, and customer-oriented household goods truck transportation. Judging criteria include miles driven, accidents (preventable or non-preventable), lifetime driving record, time out of service for any “hours of service” or equipment violations, financial responsibility, community involvement, customer service, driving awards, and outside interests and activities.

Highway Hero

The TCA (Truckload Carriers Association) bestows the Highway Angel recognition to award a driver's “good deeds”, ranging from simple acts of kindness to heroic life-saving efforts.

On Feb. 20, our driver, Junichi Shimizu was driving his tractor-trailer westbound along State Route 12 in California, when a silver car traveling eastbound crashed into a black sedan in front of him. With the silver car bursting into flames, Shimizu pulled over and ran to help the victim, breaking the glass and pulling the driver out to safety.
